Green Roses - a Lord Wander fanfic part 2 It had been hours since Hater and Wander began their long walk in the underground canal. Wander had spent the time talking about his adventures with Sylvia while Hater tried to remember which direction they were going. Although Hater knew of the canals, he had only glanced at the map of the passageways. For all he knew, Hater could have been leading them farther into the maze of canals.
Finally, Hater stopped and threw his arms in the air in frustration. “ARGH! THAT’S IT! I GIVE UP! WE’RE NEVER GOING TO FIND OUR WAY OUT!” Wander watched silently as Hater plopped into a sitting position and leaned against the wall. Hater muttered angrily to himself. “I’m so stupid thinking we’d have a chance of getting out.”
Wander stepped into his field of vision and to his surprise, the nomad reached forward and patted him on the back. “It’ll be alright, Hater. I know the chances seem bleak, but if we

Stranger LoveI am not the sunlit wing-print
splayed out on the bedroom wall.
I am not the dark mass forming
in a corner of an airless hall.
I am not the viscous vengeance
where you sink your spinning wheels.
I am not the leaky bucket
hung up on your wishing well.
You are not my soul mate missing
wandering a winter's night.
You are not the sound of angels
singing by a candle's light.
You are not the rasp of fingers
fumbling with a hasp of steel.
You are not the tattered towel
soaking up the things I feel.
I am the oblivious child,
dancing where the wildflowers are.
You are my unwitting captive
lighting up a jelly jar.
